Had GTI repaired (Oct 2011)at Scott VW body shop.Paid for factory parts, but received all after market.
Within a week of having the vehicle back; co workers asked me if the hood replaced was new or used, not knowing what they were talking about..........in the sunlight u could clearly see that there were waves in the front of the hood......it seemed as if it was a used hood with imperfections. I was already irked because the hood felt like a tuna can on the highway; thought it was going to just wrinkle. That finally got replaced in January of 2012, a few weeks later the coolant light comes on.........no coolant. (The radiator had also been replaced), the body manager, just refills the coolant instead of looking for possible leaks.
(This happened 2 more times), finally dye was run through system and the determination was made that in fact 3 leaks. SCOTT VW does not understand apparently that if a car has front end damage and a radiator was damaged that perhaps they should thoroughly inspect the car to see what other damage there may be? I guess since the shop doesn t have a lift, they don t feel compelled. But they do have a service department in EP, but I guess if they would fix any damage at the body shop, it would take away business from the service department.
It was also determined that the grille assembly did not fit correctly, because it was an aftermarket. Mr. Scott again who doesn t stand by his work or warranty, offers me $100 towards a $323, the cost to replace his faulty work. One last thing..........the car went in Oct 2011 with according to the body shop, it had 150,700 when it when back in Jan 2012, it had 150,800, if Mr.
Scott is an ethical kind of guy, he would want you to believe that the car was only driven 28 miles in 3 months. But when the car went in January (2 weeks after hood replacement) it had 154,662 miles according to the SERVICE Department, but yet the body shop manager want me to believe that there was no other damage or leaks when the car came in, when it was there, and when it left his shop??
